The story of a fisherman and the governor of the city

0

There was a serious fisherman who caught a fish a day and it stayed in his house as

long as God willed it to stay until it was finished. He went to the beach to catch

another fish. One day, while the fisherman’s wife was cutting up what her husband

had caught, she saw something amazing. She saw a pearl in the belly of that fish.

She was amazed. A pearl in the belly of a fish. Glory be to God. My husband, my

husband, look at what I found. What is it? It is a pearl, a pearl. The fisherman took

the pearl and went with it to the pearl seller who lived in the next house. His

neighbor, the merchant, looked at it and said, “But I cannot buy it because it is

priceless. Go to the chief of the sellers in the next city, perhaps he can buy it from

you.” Our friend took his pearl and went with it to the big seller in the next city and

told him the story. He said to him, “By God, my brother, what you own is priceless,

but I have found a solution for you. Go to the governor of the city, for he is able to

 buy such a pearl.”

At the door of the governor’s palace, our friend stood with his precious treasure,

waiting for permission to enter. When the governor saw it, he said, “Pearls like this

are what I am looking for. I do not know how to estimate its price, but I will allow

you to enter the private treasury. You will remain there for six hours. Take from it

whatever you want. This is the price of the pearl.” The fisherman said, “Sir, perhaps

you can make it two hours, six hours is too much for a fisherman.” The governor

said, “No, but six full hours so that you can take from the treasury whatever you

 want.”

Our friend entered the governor’s treasury and saw a terrifying sight. It was a very

large room divided into three sections. One section was full of jewels and gold,

and the other section was A comfortable bed, if he looked at it, he would sleep

comfortably and divide it into all the food and drink he desired. The hunter was

talking to himself for hours. It is too many for a simple hunter like me. What will I

do in six hours? Well, I will start with the food in the third section. I will eat until I

fill my stomach so that I can gain more energy to collect the largest amount of

gold. Our friend went to the third section and spent two hours eating and eating

until he finished. He went to the first section. On his way, that comfortable bed. He

said to himself, “Now I have eaten until I am full. Why should I not gain more sleep,

which gives me the energy to collect the largest amount possible? It is an

opportunity that will not be repeated. What stupidity would make me waste it?”

The hunter went to bed, lay down, and fell into a deep sleep. After a while, he

heard someone say to him, “Get up, you foolish hunter. The deadline is over.”

Here, what? I didn’t take anything. Yes, go outside. Please, please. You didn’t take

enough time. You were in this safe for six hours and now you have woken up from

your negligence. You want to gain more jewels. Shouldn’t you have been busy

collecting all these jewels so that you could go outside? So she buys you the best

and finest food and makes you the most wonderful and softest bedding, but you

are a fool who is oblivious and only thinks about the environment you are in. Take

him outside. No, no, please, please.

The story is over

But the lesson is not over yet. Did you see that pearl? It is your soul. It is a priceless

treasure, but you do not know the value of that treasure? Did you see that safe? It

is the world. Look at its greatness and look at our exploitation of it. As for the

jewels, they are good deeds. As for the soft bed, it is

heedlessness. As for the food and drink, it is the sheep. Now, my brother, the

fisherman, and you are the intended reader of the story. Isn’t it time for you to

wake up from your sleep and leave the soft bed and

collect the jewels in your hands before that period granted to you, which is your

life, ends and you regret it as you leave this world? God Almighty said: “Until, when

death comes to one of them, he says,

‘My Lord, send me back so that I may do righteousness in that which I left behind.’

No! It is only a word he is saying. And behind them is a barrier until the Day they

 are resurrected.”
